Prof. Dr. Paul Engelke, Professor of Wastewater Treatment and Water Treatment at the EAH Jena, is developing a digital analysis tool for predictive, intelligent maintenance of wastewater treatment plant components in the areas of construction and mechanical engineering.
Goals
Predictive maintenance is the analysis of machine and production data in order to proactively maintain machines. It is not yet established in the water industry in general or in the operation of water treatment plants in particular. In view of the advancing age of many wastewater treatment plants and the increasing demands on purification performance due to stricter environmental regulations, their condition assessment is becoming increasingly important. Prof. Dr. Paul Engelke therefore wants to optimize the maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment plants with the "VODIWABEKA" project. To this end, he is developing a methodology for the predictive digital and intelligent maintenance of plant components. This includes the development of an analysis tool that can be integrated into existing software environments for controlling the processes at wastewater treatment plants.
