Prof. Dr. Björn Lillemeier has been appointed as professor of Molecular Immunology at the University of Freiburg starting winter semester 2020. He has returned from the USA (Salk Institute for Biological Studies).

Goals

The research topic of the professorship is signal transduction in immune cells, especially T cells. The aim is to change immune responses in order to treat autoimmune diseases, infections and cancer.
Professor Lillemeier's appointment was supported by the funding of equipment for the planned cell biological and protein biochemical work.
