Prof. Dr. Tobias Hauser holds the professorship for Computational Psychiatry at the University of Tübingen since February 15, 2023. Previously, he conducted research at University College London.

Goals

The professorship Computational Psychiatry has special significance for the University of Tübingen in the expected contributions to the German Center for Mental Health as well as to the Cluster of Excellence Machine Learning. Specifically, it is concerned with the application of modern computer-based methods in the field of psychiatry and psychotherapy. Complex neuroscientific data sets are to be brought to a new level of analysis in order to achieve novel insights into the classification of mental illnesses, the development of individualized treatment approaches and the prediction of treatment success.
The appointment of Professor Hauser, who has already successfully acquired an ERC Starting Grant, was supported by material and investment funds as well as funds for dual-career measures.
