Scholarships for young scientists to participate in an international network meeting, where they meet top-class award winners from their field. The focus is on interdisciplinary exchange and mutual inspiration.
Goals
The Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation (HLFF) aims to promote and contribute to the appreciation of mathematics and computer science. Every September, it organizes the Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF), an international network meeting where 200 of the best young scientists in mathematics and computer science meet top-class laureates from their fields. In addition to the interdisciplinary exchange on current topics, the focus is on mutual inspiration and fruitful dialog - across disciplines, generations and cultures. And it is not uncommon for discussions with experienced role models to lead to top achievements in mathematics and computer science.
Another goal of the HLFF is to draw public attention to the two disciplines of mathematics and computer science, to awaken and sustain interest in them. Its Mathematics and Informatics Station (MAINS) hosts exhibitions and events for all ages throughout the year. Founded in 2013, HLFF is supported by the Klaus Tschira Foundation.
The Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung has been supporting the HLFF since 2015. The funding is used to support young scientists with scholarships to enable them to participate in the HLFF.
