The project investigates the mobility of AI specialists in Germany and Europe. Causes are being investigated and fields of action identified. This will lead to the development of effective measures to promote the German and European AI ecosystem.

Goals

Artificial intelligence (AI) is considered a promising technology of the future and an important strategic resource. In Germany and the EU, politics, business, science and society face the challenge of advancing and actively shaping the development and application of AI. To achieve this, the technological foundations and the market and geopolitical dynamics as well as the research, development and application of AI must be understood in depth.

The central pillars of the AI value chain are data, computing power and specialists. Skilled workers are a key pillar of a functioning AI ecosystem. The project conducts data-based research and investigates the reasons for the inflow and outflow of AI specialists in Germany and Europe. The aim is to evaluate the European AI ecosystem in terms of its attractiveness for skilled workers from Germany and abroad and to develop effective measures to promote it.
