Prof. Dr. Roy Knechtel has been appointed as Endowed Professor for Autonomous Intelligent Sensors at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences starting summer semester 2019.
Goals
The research focus of the endowed chair is on the design of energy-autonomous, decentrally operating systems. Their intelligent individual components (sensors) are to guide decision-making processes autonomously as well as to develop cognitive cloud structures integrated in networks. In cooperation with industry, projects are initiated that aim to develop new products adapted to the needs of industry and private life.
