Identification and manipulation of the physiological and psychological clocks of the lifespan (IMPULS)

Focus topic: Life Science Technologies
Type of funding: Project funding programmes
Programme: CZS Breakthroughs
Funded institution:
  • Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena

People of the same chronological age often differ greatly in biological age. The aim of the project is to better understand the causes of biological ageing and to be able to measure them as accurately as possible using biomarkers.

Goals

How do we age biologically and what causes individual differences? How do psychological factors affect biological ageing? What everyday and medical possibilities are there to positively influence the ageing process? These and other questions will be analysed within the framework of IMPULS.
