Prof. Dr. Kristina Herfert has been appointed Junior Professor for Functional and Metabolic Brain Imaging at the University of Tübingen for the summer semester 2021.

Goals

Professor Herfert's research focuses on molecular, metabolic and functional imaging of the brain in small animals using PET (positron emission tomography) and combined PET/MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). Furthermore, PET tracers for neurodegenerative diseases will be developed. The aim is to provide novel tools for molecular imaging approaches and thus contribute to translational bench-to-bedside approaches.
