CZS Summer School

This program allows CZS alumni and current CZS Endowed Professors as well as Junior professors and research group leaders, to apply for funds to organize a CZS Summer School.

Goals

Through the CZS Summer School programme, the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung supports the development and maintenance of networks as well as professional exchange and further education on a national and/or international level.

The funding amount is up to 20,000 euros per project. One application can be submitted per calendar year.

Among others, the following are eligible:

  • Event costs, such as room rental, catering, event materials
  • honoraria, travel and accommodation expenses
  • Additional personnel costs for employees and student assistants
  • Funds for science communication, transfer and outreach activities.

The application for a CZS Summer School must include a specific teaching or research topic from the natural, life or engineering sciences (STEM fields) related to the CZS focus topics.

Selection procedure

Funding projects are selected by the foundation’s office.

Applicants will generally be notified of a funding decision within six weeks of submission of the application.
