CZS Prototypes

The programme is intended to help scientists to develop prototypes from their research projects.

Goals

The goal of the programme is to transform scientific knowledge into sustainable application. The objective is to raise the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) from TRL 4 (validated components in the laboratory) to TRL 7 (prototype in use). Furthermore, concepts based on the prototype development are to be developed for use in knowledge transfer or utilisation in technology transfer.

The funding amount is up to 75,000 euros per project with a duration of 12 months.

The CZS Prototypes funding programme is a pilot programme of the Carl Zeiss Foundation.

Eligible are:

  • scientific and technical personnel
  • material resources
  • measures to support collaboration between science on the one hand and business and society on the other
  • measures to promote teaching based on the prototype

Selection procedure

Funding projects are selected through competition with support from external experts.
