Dr. Felix Streiter

Felix Streiter became Managing Director of the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung on 1 January 2020.

Felix Streiter is a lawyer and has been working in the foundation sector since 2003. He spent eleven years at the Mercator Foundation in various management positions, most recently as head of the science department. Prior to that, he worked at the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation as head of division in the Strategy and Funding Programs departments.

He studied in Bayreuth, Geneva, Freiburg, and at Duke University and earned his doctorate with a thesis on science funding through intermediary organizations. Before entering the foundation landscape, he worked as a lawyer in an international commercial law firm.

Felix Streiter is Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Ernst Abbe Foundation, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German Optical Museum, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, member of the Baden-Württemberg State Board of Trustees of the Stifterverband, and Head of the Science and Research Working Group of the Federal Association of German Foundations.
