After the study "Werde Informatiklehrer:in 2022", a lot has happened in computer science teaching. There have been many changes for lateral entry. As part of this project, the study will be updated and the results communicated.
Goals
There is a shortage of IT teachers in Germany. The federal states are responsible for training teachers and integrating them into the education system. This system is designed more for traditional teacher training, but not for a relatively new subject such as computer science. As the demand for this subject has risen faster than for other subjects, new ways of teaching computer science are needed. For interested career changers, this path into the teaching profession has so far been difficult to understand. The project aims to improve this. The study collects information on computer science teaching in the federal states as well as specific information on (lateral) entry into the teaching profession by federal state. The aim is to improve and simplify lateral entry into the computer science teaching profession.
