Topic: STEM impulses
Type of funding: Individual funding programmes
Funded institution:
  • Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz

Prof. Dr. Katrin Amann-Winkel has been appointed Professor of Solid State Physics at the University of Mainz starting winter semester 2021. She previously conducted research at Stockholm University, Sweden.

Goals

The professorship is to represent the field of X-ray scattering from soft matter in research and teaching. It was proclaimed by the University of Mainz in cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research. Professor Amann-Winkel's appointment was supported by the funding of material and investment resources for the establishment of a laboratory for optical measurements on soft matter systems.
