In the Serious Game Lab, therapeutic games for seniors are developed and analyzed. In addition to providing information, patients are motivated to repeat exercises through games.

Goals

Intelligence and competencies are promoted by games at almost any age. Computer games that, in addition to their entertainment value, specifically promote the transfer of knowledge and skills or support behavioral changes are referred to as "serious games". A Serious Game Lab (SGL) is to be established at Trier University of Applied Sciences, which will focus on therapeutic games for senior citizens. Therapy sessions in prevention and rehabilitation could thus be reduced and exercises could be performed autonomously at home or together with relatives. The games will be designed to be barrier-free, low-threshold and gender-appropriate.
