Prof. Dr Manfred Claassen was appointed as professor for clinical bioinformatics at the University of Tübingen starting July 2020. He previously taught and conducted research at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

Goals

The professorship is intended to strengthen the focus on Personalised Medicine through bioinformatics research; new methods in biomedical informatics are to be developed and applied transnationally.
Professor Claassen's appointment was supported by funding for a device for single-cell analyses.
