Prof. Dr. Dirk Koch has been appointed to the professorship for Novel Computing Technologies at Heidelberg University starting April 2022. He previously conducted research at the University of Manchester, UK.

Goals

The professorship "Novel Computing Technologies" is located at the Institute of Computer Engineering. It is intended to couple innovative computing technologies with digital systems and thus enable data exchange and heterogeneous data processing. In addition to the development of novel computing technologies, their application is to be promoted through various spin-off activities. These should lead to executable computer chips that strengthen areas such as robotics or biomechanics in the interdisciplinary environment of Heidelberg University.

Professor Koch's appointment was supported by funding in materials for the design and manufacture of hardware prototypes.
