JenaVersum is a network for the cooperation of actors from science and industry in the Jena region. The development of a database should enable a coordinated use of the available research equipment for all partners.
Goals
JenaVersum is a cooperative network for regional collaboration of actors from science, business and the community in Jena and the surrounding area. One of the five fields of action of JenaVersum is the promotion of research cooperations through the coordinated use of the research infrastructure by all network partners and collaborative projects. For this purpose, a common database is to be developed and implemented, which makes the available equipment accessible. OpenIRIS was identified as a suitable platform. OpenIRIS (Open Integrated Resource and Information Sharing) is a non-commercial open source platform. It is capable of efficiently managing the complex and often costly management of research infrastructure. The use of OpenIRIS will enable research and booking of equipment and services within the framework of JenaVersum. The Carl Zeiss Foundation is funding the development of the database and the implementation of OpenIRIS for three years.
