It honors outstanding technical, engineering and scientific achievements that lead to application-ready products and is endowed with 250,000 euros. The link between science and industry is a conceptual component of the award, which is also reflected in the composition of the bodies and committees responsible for the award.
The Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung has been a sponsor of the Deutscher Zukunftspreis since 2018 and is represented on the Board of Trustees.
