Cyber Valley 2023-2027

Focus topic: Artificial Intelligence
Type of funding: Large individual funding projects
Programme: CZS Individual funding
Funded institution:
  • Max-Planck-Institut für Intelligente Systeme

Cyber Valley is Europe's largest AI research consortium. The project aims to promote talented young scientists and the transfer from science to practice through various measures.

Goals

Cyber Valley's academic and private-sector partners are building bridges between curiosity-driven basic research and applied research in artificial intelligence (AI): the "Cyber Valley 2.0" phase will begin in 2023. This will focus the Cyber Valley ecosystem on technology transfer from cutting-edge research to spin-offs, start-ups and proof-of-concept developments. The aim is to increase the number of people who consider working as researchers in the field of AI during the course of their studies or doctorate and to promote the transfer into practice. Inspired by its own pilot projects in Cyber Valley as well as by the experiences of international excellence ecosystems (e.g. Stanford START, WYSS Zurich, Harvard, etc.), Cyber Valley 2.0 aims to significantly advance the training and early promotion of talent.

Together with the Tübingen AI Center and the ELLIS Institute in Tübingen, Cyber Valley forms Europe's largest AI research consortium.
