23.10.2024 Artificial intelligence Networking - Exchange - Feedback

At the first status symposium on artificial intelligence, the focus was on networking and exchange as well as constructive feedback from a five-member panel of experts. During the two-day event, ten funding projects with a duration of five to six years were examined. All projects are currently in the middle of their funding period.

Topics included fundamental AI issues in the areas of embedded AI, robotics and tools for certifying AI in the field of healthcare. One project deals with research into non-functional properties or conflicting goals of AI systems in the areas of transparency, fairness, energy efficiency and robustness. In addition, physics-informed machine learning for physical and chemical modeling as well as AI in atmospheric sciences were discussed.

The status symposia give the Carl Zeiss Foundation the opportunity to exchange ideas with the projects and people it funds and gain insights into the status and progress of research. The grantees benefit from the intensive exchange and networking with scientists who are conducting research in the same or related fields.
Status symposia are held in all of the foundation's focus areas.
