For the fourth time in total, the CZS was on site at one of its sponsored institutions. Last week, the team was a guest at the Ilmenau University of Technology.
Sponsors from Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences and Ilmenau University of Technology provided exciting insights into their research projects. The Center for Micro and Nanotechnologies (ZMN), the Center for Energy Technology (ZET) and the Ilmenau Interactive Immersive Technologies Center (I3TC) were visited as part of three guided tours.

Goethe or Schiller? In an entertaining panel discussion with Prof. Kai-Uwe Sattler, President of TU Ilmenau, and Prof. Gundolf Baier, President of HS Schmalkalden, the most important question of the evening was probably answered at the beginning - unanimously in favor of Goethe.

Afterwards, program managers from the foundation, together with four grantees, gave short presentations on exciting projects from the three CZS focus areas of artificial intelligence, resource efficiency and life science technologies. The Ilmkubator Lab - a FabLab for start-ups - was also presented.

Following the official program, the focus for the 70 or so participants was on personal interaction - over Thuringian grilled sausage and delicious ice cream.
