25.11.2025 Resource efficiency Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung promotes resource-saving digitalization

Advancing digitalization brings with it numerous advantages, but is also associated with high energy and resource consumption as well as considerable CO2 emissions. In order to meet these challenges, the Carl Zeiss Foundation is funding projects that focus on reducing energy consumption and increasing efficiency in digitalization as part of its Resource Efficiency focus. The projects aim to develop a resource-saving, energy-efficient and climate-friendly value chain in the field of digitalization.

The foundation congratulates the universities in Karlsruhe, Koblenz, Offenburg and Trier, which have received a total of 5.4 million euros in funding for their research projects on resource-saving digitalization.
