19.11.2025 Science communication Albert Einstein Discovery Center - Physics you can touch
The Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung is supporting the Albert Einstein Discovery Center in Ulm with 150,000 euros. This will be used to further develop the content and design of the exhibition. The exhibition concept will be elaborated and a narrative structure developed to appeal to a diverse audience and make Einstein's theories accessible. In addition, the scenographic concept and the exhibition layout will be created and interactive exhibits will be planned and tested. The Discovery Center will thus become a place where Einstein's life, his ideas and their significance for science, technology and everyday life in his native city of Ulm can be exhibited in a vivid and accessible way.
The concept is intended to provide a biographical introduction to Einstein's life, convey his theories in an understandable way and illustrate their current applications in medicine, communication and the like. Several exhibitions are being conceived and designed for this purpose. The first workshops have already been successfully held. Various target groups in Ulm will then test these concepts. The reach and impact of the exhibition content can thus be optimized even before the opening.
The Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung is one of the "First 11". It has already supported the project with 70,000 euros in 2021. "We are delighted to be able to take the next steps in this extraordinary project with this second grant. The Albert Einstein Discovery Center will create a space in which people can actively learn and engage with scientific content, but also learn about Albert Einstein the man and his work," says Dr. Felix Streiter, Managing Director of the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung.
