CZS STEM-Forum for interdisciplinary dialogue Science Communication - Small funding projects – CZS Individual funding

    Short description

The CZS STEM-Forum at the University of Koblenz facilitates formats such as seminars, conferences, or workshops for interdisciplinary exchange between STEM scientists, offers support for young scientists and research, and supports regional networking.

CZS Technology Transfer Center JENAINNOVATION Transfer - Large individual funding projects – CZS Individual funding

    Short description

JENAINNOVATION aims to translate cutting-edge research into innovations and DeepTech startups. The goal is to create a cross-institutional innovation ecosystem with supra-regional impact and impulses for science, business, and society.

Decarbonization of energy-intensive industry through smart sector coupling with AI-based probabilistic forecasting and operations management (DeepCarbPlanner). Resource efficiency, Transfer - Project funding programmes – CZS Transfer

    Short description

With the help of machine learning methods, measures for effective and economical emission reduction are being researched in the project. The digital twin of a production process is used to show ways to achieve climate-neutral production.

Decarbonized energy supply of the building stock through system-serving bidirectional cold local heating networks Resource efficiency, Transfer - Project funding programmes – CZS Transfer

    Short description

The aim of the project is to decarbonize the heat supply of existing buildings and thus dispense with fossil natural gas. To achieve this, cold local heating networks are designed bidirectionally and solar heat from the summer is stored seasonally in the ground and used in the winter.

Design of carbon-derived electrode materials towards rechargeable Al-N2 batteries Resource efficiency, Talents - Individual funding programmes – CZS Nexus

    Short description

Dr. Desirée Leistenschneider is a chemist and researches batteries. She studied and completed her doctorate at TU Dresden. After a postdoctoral phase at the University of Alberta (Canada), she now heads a junior research group at the University of Jena.

Development of a non-invasive sensor for monitoring sugar concentrations in fermentation media in biotechnological, personalized drug production (WirkSens) Life Science Technologies, Transfer - Project funding programmes – CZS Transfer

    Short description

The WirkSens project is developing a Raman spectrometer that will make it possible to determine the glucose concentration in small, parallelized single-use bioreactors. It could be used to record cell culture measurement data in real time and use it for process control.

Development of an integrated analysis framework for land use in Rhineland-Palatinate - using the example of grassland development Talents - Individual funding programmes – CZS research boost

    Short description

Prof. Dr. Andre Deppermann of Bingen University of Applied Sciences is developing an integrated analytical framework for Rhineland-Palatinate to identify regional risks associated with the abandonment of grassland in light of changing trends in livestock farming.

Disruptive electrode-electrolyte concepts beyond current scientific limitations - ECHELON Resource efficiency - Project funding programmes – CZS Perspectives

    Short description

An environmentally friendly removal of oxygen atoms from organic compounds is being researched for the use of electricity to convert substances into valuable products. The aim is to avoid the electrolytic evolution of hydrogen.

Drought tolerance of fir in Thuringia Talents - Individual funding programmes – CZS research boost

    Short description

Prof. Dr. Göran Spangenberg of the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt is researching the site-specific drought tolerance of the silver fir, in part through high-resolution trunk diameter measurements.

Effect of dietary supplement cannabinoids on the enteric nervous system (ENECeN) Talents - Individual funding programmes – CZS research boost

    Short description

Prof. Dr. Kristina Endres, Professor of Medical and Biosciences at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences, is researching the effect of cannabinoids on the nervous system of the intestine and the potential therapeutic effect on diseased tissue.
