Next Generation Energy Experience 2026

Focus: Resource efficiency Science Communication
Type of funding: Individual funding programmes
Programme: CZS Plus
Funded institution:
  • University of Stuttgart

The "Next Generation Energy Experience" (NGEE) will take place for the second time in 2026. The aim is to use a variety of outreach measures to make key issues relating to energy and sustainability understandable and tangible for middle and high school students. The focus is particularly on the use of renewable energy in buildings.

Goals

The NGEE campaign format, which met with a great response in its first year, is made up of the two components "Energy Challenge" and "Energy Day". The Energy Challenge is designed as a creative competition in which technical tasks have to be realized in the form of a model construction. The Energy Day offers short lectures on current research and teaching as well as exciting, interactive live experiments in which students can test their knowledge in an interactive live quiz.

In this way, the aim is to sensitize and inspire students for future-oriented energy technologies and to develop an awareness of their importance in the context of climate protection. A particular focus is on the integration of renewable energies in buildings and the role of heat pumps, refrigeration technology and energy networks.
