CZS Special Fund Ukraine

With the CZS Special Fund Ukraine, the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung supports refugee scientists from Ukraine by providing short-term funding at a host university or research institution in Germany.

Goals

The CZS Special Fund Ukraine is intended to support Ukrainian academics in continuing their academic work at a host institution in Germany on a transitional basis. The programme is implemented in cooperation with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and Springer Nature within the framework of the Emergency Fund of the Philipp Schwartz Initiative (PSI) for refugee scientists and academics, as well as through other measures and calls for proposals.

The funding is intended to bridge the gap in the short term so that longer-term support can be obtained from other sources if necessary.

The following are eligible for funding:

Scientists and researchers with Ukrainian citizenship and a completed doctorate in the STEM field with current place of residence in Germany (not before 24.02.22).

Selection procedure

The selection is made according to the time of receipt of the applications.

The host institution is responsible for checking the academic qualifications of the visiting scholar.
